Museums

Morelia is a center of cultural activity and has excellent museums on viceregal, popular and contemporary arts. It also has outstanding collections of Purépecha archaeology and regional history.

Theatres

The shows and concerts available in Morelia are closely linked to the music presented at the three main festivals that take place in the months on March, May and July and that include performances by internationally known artists. The main musical instruments played at the concerts or recitals are the guitar and the Cathedral organ that features prominently during the International Organ Festival.
