Lakes

Michoacan is abundant of water. The name of “Michoacan” means “place of fishermen”. More than 400 springs of thermal and cold water cross over Michoacan, creating “La Ruta de la Salud” (the Route of Health) and giving life to rustic and modern spas.

Populated mountains of pines protect the freshness of the waters of Laguna Verde (Green Lake) and Laguna Larga (Long Lake) in Los Azufres, one of most beautiful regions of Michoacan with numerous thermal springs like El Silbador and El Currutaco, and some mud volcanoes. Close to Los Azufres are located ideal places for camping and fishing, Pucuato, Sabaneta and Mata de Pinos.

Waterfalls like Saltos del Moro and Enandio, the Chorros del Varal, Tzararacua and Tzararacuita; lakes formed in craters of volcanoes like the Alberca de Tacambaro and Espinos in Zacapu, making Michoacan an unrepeatable scenario.
