The State of Puebla

The state of Puebla is located in Mexico’s heart, the right place to live all history, which far from being an spectator has been an actor, for it mixes the Indian past, the Palafox’s heritage, the Revolutionary Movements and the modern expressions of art and culture.

The State of Puebla has a natural richness which is characterized by its diversity: it has mountains, desert like areas, valleys, lakes, forests, rivers, volcanoes, etc. As a consequence, the climate also varies and presents considerable differences depending the

region, changing from cold to warm and from dry to humid.

The majestic City of Puebla was the first to be founded in the state, on  April 16^th 1531, as a social and human experiment, in which a group of civilians headed by Frat Toribio de Benavente participated. In what architecture concerns, churches, schools, hospitals and homes were built, and it is here where cultural syncretism left one of its most important legacies; in the historical center of the City of Puebla which was declared “Cultural Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1987, with more than 2600 buildings of great value.

The city of Puebla is located 85 miles away from Mexico City. Modern highways communicates with all the main cities around the country. It has an International Airport: Hermanos Serdan, as well as important Bus Station.
