Fishing

Along the coast of Playa Miramar, 12 km north of Ciudad Madero, you can catch marlin, sailfish and swordfish. Fishing facilities are also available in the El Chairel Lagoon.

Chairel Lake

Located north of Tampico, this lake is the perfect place to practice aquatic sports such as swimming, skiing and fishing. It is situated in a natural environment and features some of the best water sports clubs.

Miramar Beach

The main fishing competitions are organized the Club de Regatas Corona. Following is a list of these competitions: Bazar de Pesca. February 20. Torneo del Robalo (Sea Bass competition). April 13 to 16. Salvador Chavol Valero (Peto, Jurel and Bonito Competition) June 16 to 18. Torneo Internacional del Sábalo (International Shad Tournament). August 17 to 20. Torneo de Pesca Playero (Beach Fishing Contest). October 14 and 15. Torneo de Pesca Convivencia Familiar (Family Fishing Competition). November 11 and 12.
