Cozumel has been a popular destination for people looking for ideal water sport conditions. It is no surprise that Cozumel attracts more then 80,000 visitors’s each year for deep water diving alone. Aside from water sports, Cozumel offers mountain biking, Rock climbing and other land oriented extreme sports

Rock Climbing

Cozumel is home to the largest climbing wall in Mexico. This most recent edition to extreme sports in the region features four circular climbing towers ranging in height from 38 to 56 ft. These climbing walls are ideal for avid climbers who want to show off their skills or the adventure seeker. Aside from the climbing walls on the beach, serious mountaineer’s can easily find a guide to take them to Cozumel’s ridged natural rocks. Even if climbing is not your fancy, you can choose to stay on the ground and cheer on your favorite climber to his climb to the top.

Windsurfing

Wind surfing can be seen all over the coast of Cozumel. The ideal deep water conditions around the area allow wind surfers to reach high speeds and avoid many of the dangers that occur from protruding rocks. There are more then enough local rental shops that will allow you to rent equipment for the duration of your stay, if you so wish.

Jet Skiing

This extreme sport is popular around the island’s western shore. Similar to many water related activities, Cozumel produces some of the best water condition for jet skiing because reefs and rocks are more then 200 feet below the surface. Nearly all resorts have Water sports rentals. Playa San Francisco, Playa Palancar and Playa del Sol are just some of the many water sports equipment shops that have a wide range of jet skis.

Hang-Gliding

 It will not be that easy to find a Hang-Gliding instructor that will teach you and show you just how to hang-glide before your stay is up, those that are experienced enough will find the experience most memorable. There are more then a couple budding entrepreneurs that offer rentals of hang gliders, so those that look for it will find. The geography of the island makes it an ideal format for your adventure due to flat terrain and brush, that make your trip down the mountain easy to deal with.
